Te Piringa Law app for the NZ Law Style Guide
This app has been designed to provide easy access to the most commonly cited sources from the NZ Law Style Guide. It is the first such law referencing app in the country. Te Piringa Faculty of Law researchers have created this app in conjunction with University librarians and researchers in the School of Computing & Mathematical Sciences.
Law Library
The Law Library is a modern, well-equipped research library open seven days a week. It is housed in a separate collection on the 4th floor of the main university library, providing the strengths of a specialist collection with easy access to the facilities and resources of the main library, and provides facilities for individual and group study, photocopying and computing.
It provides the reference materials and information that students need to study law and do legal research. Specialist staff are available to help with finding information and teaching students how to use the resources. The library holds a substantial collection of New Zealand and overseas statutes, law reports, commentaries, periodicals and textbooks. It is especially well resourced in Maori and indigenous materials and law in context, to reflect the emphasis of Te Piringa - Faculty of Law.
There is growing emphasis on the use of computer databases to access legal materials, and these are made available via the internet so that off-campus, 24-hour access is available to students.
Computer Facilities
The Faculty is at the forefront of the use of technology in legal education. There are four student computer labs for law student use 24 hours a day. Every Waikato Student is provided with an email account and access to printing and internet facilities.
Graduate Computing
Graduates, in addition to the general computer labs, are provided with computer access through a dedicated graduate computer lab.
Graduates have access to computing support and library advice to help them in their use of these information resources.
