Summer Accommodation

The University of Waikato will have limited accommodation available over the summer period. In Hamilton accommodation will be available at Student Village (Fully Catered and Self Catered) OR Orchard Park/Silverdale Apartments (Self Catered). In Tauranga Accommodation will be available in the Selwyn Street Studios.

Due to the limited spaces available over summer, we may not be able to offer everyone their preferred accommodation option. You may be offered an alternative.

All students needing accommodation between 4 November 2023 and 10 February 2024 must submit a summer application.

To apply, log on to the accommodation portal and select the “Summer Stay” option:

Casual Accommodation / Block Courses

Students requiring accommodation for Casual / Block Courses will be in fully catered only. You will be allocated a Student Village (Upgrade) room. The cost is $350.00 per week. You will pay for the full week (no daily charge).

We will only allocate a self catered room to someone who books in for either the full C, G or H Trimester.

Staying on for 1 - 2 weeks after 4 November 2023

If you need to stay on for 1 - 2 weeks after 4 November 2023 due to teaching practicums, nursing placements or waiting for flights etc, you can do so. You will be charged by the week.

If you are currently in Student Village of Orchard Park you will stay where you are. If you are in Bryant Hall or College Hall, we will advise you of how this will work closer to the time. Whether you stay in your current hall or move will depend on how many students we have needng to stay on.

Trimester Dates

• C Trimester - 4 November 2023 - 10 February 2024*
• G Trimester - 4 November 2023 - 16 December 2023*
• H Trimester - 3 January 2024 - 10 February 2024

*Move in day for a student not currently in the hall is 11 November 2023 unless a room is available prior to this date.

• Silverdale Road Apartments (self catered) - $360.00 (couple)

Tauranga

• Selwyn Street Tauranga (self catered) - $250.00
