This paper will provide students the opportunity to devise, carry out and revise an independent and original creative writing manuscript, while receiving supervision and peer feedback within a creative workshop environment. Students are selected by portfolio assessment: application portfolios due by June 7.

CWRIT594 Portfolio Requirements. A portfolio of up to 10,000 words, consisting of 4-6 pieces of writing. May include fiction, excerpts of long prose, creative nonfiction and poetry, but MUST contain at least ONE poem and at least ONE COMPLETE short story or creative nonfiction piece. A cover letter detailing your experience as a writer; and a one-page proposal outlining the manuscript you intend to produce on the course. Submit to tracey.slaughter@waikato.ac.nz. Deadline Monday 7 June 2021.
