Practical business learning

Throughout the MBM degree, you'll become aware of your own abilities as a future business leader. Your learning experience is designed to be practical, relevant, challenging and inspiring.

There are a total 11 papers in the programme, and you will have about 28-30 hours of classes and learning per week.

Learning is through a mix of classroom lectures, real-world case studies, group assignments, video, social media, creative problem solving and reflective learning.

For one of your assignments, students work in small teams to undertake a virtual consultancy project for a local business. These projects are managed by Waikato Management School with input from the host organisations.

Students will also develop applied business research skills by working individually on a case study, and then writing a business research report.

For the Integrative Learning Project, you will work in small teams to develop a business plan for your own entrepreneurial start-up business, and then pitch your ideas to a group of senior business leaders in a 'Dragons' Den'-style situation.

We can also provide students and recent graduates with career tools and support to help you on your job-hunting journey.
