Email & Moodle Messages
There are three different types of template messages that you can edit and email to your students. One to share before the evaluation is to take place, one directly after and then a final message to students. Two options have been created for each type of message.
Template messages:
- Information for students before the evaluation
- Information for students after the evaluation
- Final message to students
If you have any questions, or would like any assistance with sending these messages, or with running the evaluations in class, please email evaluations@waikato.ac.nz
Information for students BEFORE the evaluation
Email template 1:
Kia ora koutou,
If you have a web-capable device please bring it to class this/next week as I’m going to allocate time during the lecture on DATE/TIME to complete the end-of-semester paper and teaching evaluation. The evaluations are really important: they’re used for developing papers, and improving teaching at the University. In addition to using the information to improve the paper and my teaching, the data from evaluations is used in academic staff promotion and for teaching awards.
If you have any questions about the process, you can contact the Evaluation Team at evaluations@waikato.ac.nz.
If you would like to complete the evaluation in advance, or are unable to attend class, please go to www.waikato.ac.nz/go/evaluate/ to give feedback.

Thank you to the XX% of students who have responded to the paper and teaching evaluation for this paper. I appreciate the time you have taken to reflect on your learning and provide feedback through the evaluations process.
If you have not yet completed the evaluation for this paper, you are still able to do so. The evaluation will close on 11 November, 2018. I will read all of the comments you make through the evaluation, as I plan to use them to improve this paper.
Your feedback is most useful when you are specific about what contributed to your learning and you provide suggestions about what could be improved.
