Pre-arrival checklist

Starting your studies with us soon? Check out the list below to make sure you're ready to start your new adventure with us.

  1. Finalise your papers and timetable

    You can select your papers and view your timetable as part of your online application to enrol.

  2. Accept your offer of study and complete your enrolment

    Your enrolment needs to be finalised before the semester starts. Different application and enrolment dates apply to some programmes.

  3. Pay your tuition fees (if applicable)

    If you have fees to pay, they need to be paid before the semester starts. Find out how to pay your fees or if you may be eligible for fees-free.

  4. Apply for a Student Loan and Student Allowance (optional)

    You can apply for a Student Loan and/or Student Allowance through StudyLink.

  5. Organise your accommodation

    Our accommodation team are available to advise and support you with finding suitable accommodation.

  6. Get your student ID card

    Once you've completed your enrolment, follow the instructions to get your student ID card. Please read and follow the photo requirements.

  7. Get ready for Orientation

    Orientation is an exciting time to get familiar with your campus, make new friends and get yourself set up for the start of a busy year.

  8. Follow us on social media

    Join us on Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook to find out what's going on around uni and to enter competitions.

  9. Download the WaikatoUni app

    The WaikatoUni app (available on the App Store and Google Play) is designed to support your time at the University by providing a single place to view key tools including Moodle, MyWaikato, upcoming lecture time, grade information and much more.
