Malo e lelei, my name is Fiana. I hail from Māngere, South Auckland. The Tongan principles of faka’apa’apa (respect), mamahi’i me’a (passion), anga fakatokilalo (humility), tauhi vaha’a (nurturing relationships) and ‘ofa (love) have formed the foundation of my upbringing and have driven me in my pursuit of becoming a teacher. As a primary school teacher, I've come to realise how important it is to establish a rapport with each student as well as their whānau in order to assist them with their learning both inside and outside the classroom walls. I am passionate about creating a vā with a range of diverse learners and staff members also. For the benefit of our whānau, I am looking forward to incorporating more Pasifika principles into restorative conversations to help paint a brighter picture for our tamariki.
